⭐ NOAA — Metadata Web Apps

National Centers on Environmental Information - CoMET

CoMET (Content Metadata Editing Tool) is a mission critical platform I helped modernize for NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information. The system enables scientists and data stewards to manage the metadata that underpins the nation’s climate and environmental records. My work focused on stabilizing the interface, improving accessibility, and strengthening the information architecture so the tool could support high volume, high integrity data operations. This project reflects my ability to work inside federal constraints while still delivering clean, modern, reliable systems that serve the public good.

National Centers on Environmental Information - Docucomp

Docucomp is NOAA’s internal documentation comparison system, used to track changes across scientific records and metadata submissions. I contributed to modernizing the platform’s frontend and improving its usability for analysts who depend on accuracy and clarity. The work required careful handling of legacy systems, strict compliance with federal accessibility standards, and a deep respect for the scientific workflows it supports. This project demonstrates my capacity to enhance critical infrastructure without disrupting the institutional processes built around it.

National Centers on Environmental Information - Metaserver

Metaserver is a core NOAA service that exposes metadata records to internal and external consumers. I worked on improving the interface and structural logic that allows users to query, browse, and retrieve environmental metadata at scale. The project required balancing performance, clarity, and compliance, ensuring that the system remained stable under heavy scientific and public demand. It highlights my ability to work on high visibility, high trust systems where accuracy is non-negotiable.

National Centers on Environmental Information - Metaview

Metaview is NOAA’s public facing metadata viewer—the window through which researchers, policymakers, and citizens access environmental data. I contributed to refining the UI, improving accessibility, and strengthening the semantic structure so the platform could serve a wide range of users with different technical backgrounds. This work reflects my commitment to building interfaces that make complex scientific information understandable, navigable, and trustworthy.
